It's the intersection of wine and art. Clos Pegase-An estate of
wine and art.
Founders and owners Jan and Mitsuko Shrem started by purchasing
a 50 acre estate near Calistoga in 1983. Today they own over 450
acres in Napa Valley
.
Renowned architect Michael Graves build a "temple to wine
and art" for the Shrems in 1987. The winery features over
20,000 square feet of caves including a cave theater available
for special events.
Clos Pegase makes over 15 different wines all from our own estate-grown grapes. Many are available only at the winery. Our winemaking style can be described as "Balanced and food-friendly avoiding high levels of oak and alcohol," says Shaun Richardson, the winemaker.
Free tours are available every day at 11 am and 2 pm. Tastings of many of our fine wines is available for a nominal fee between 10:30 am and 5 pm.
