Answers to the Top 10 Mud Bath Questions

Almost all of our first time customers ask us similar questions about the mud bath. This is hardly surprising, as the mud bath is such a unique experience. Here are the answers to the 10 questions that we are asked the most often.

1. HOW DO YOU CLEAN THE MUD?

After each treatment, we flush the mud with our hot springs mineral water that comes out of the ground between 140 and 150 degrees. We also regularly add fresh mud to the tubs to replace the mud flushed away during cleaning and showering.

2. HOW HOT IS THE MUD?

The temperature in the mud bath starts at approximately 100-102 degrees, about the same as a Spa.

3. WHAT DO I WEAR DURING THE MUD BATH?

99% of our customers wear only their birthday suits. There will be a spa attendant who will assist you during the treatment, but your privacy will be respected. If you are not comfortable being nude with your companion, we suggest that you wear an old bathing suit or underwear, as anything you wear in the mud bath may stain.

4. I WANT TO DO THE MUD BATH, BUT MY PARTNER DOES NOT?

No problem. You can do the mud bath, and your partner can do an herbal mineral bath in the same room. You will be together during the herbal mineral bath and experience the blanket wrap together. If you are unsure about whether the mud bath is for you, you can always try it, as you will have the ability to get out of the tub at any time and continue your treatment in the Spa and Blanket Wrap.

5. HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO DO A MUD BATH?

The regular price is $105, but if you check out our specials page you may be able to save off our regular rates.  If you are able to come early in the morning, or late in the day, you may even be able to do the mud bath at half-price.

6. HOW OLD DO YOU HAVE TO BE TO DO THE MUD BATH?

You ordinarily need to be 18. However, you can also do the mud bath if you are 16, weigh over 100 pounds, and are doing the mud bath with an adult.

7. ARE THERE ANY SITUATIONS WHERE I SHOULD NOT DO THE MUD BATH?

You should not do the mud bath if you have any circulatory or nervous system issues, decreased or abnormal sensitivity to heat, or increased or decreased sensitivity to heat due to diabetes. You should not do the mud bath if you are pregnant, under the influence of alcohol or drugs, have high or low blood pressure, have a heart condition, have open wounds or skin rashes, or have any condition that can be aggravated by heat. Don't do the mud bath if you have any impairment that will prevent you from getting in or lifting yourself out of the mud tub.

8. I AM COMING WITH ANOTHER PERSON, BUT WE ARE NOT A COUPLE IS THAT AN ISSUE? CAN I DO THE MUD BATH BY MYSELF?

A “couple” is any two persons who want to do the mud bath together. You can do the mud bath yourself every day except on holidays and on Saturdays after 9:30am. However, it is a lot more enjoyable to share the experience with another person, if at all possible.

9. WHAT ABOUT 3 PEOPLE WHO WANT TO DO THE MUD BATH TOGETHER?

No problem. We have a treatment room that can accommodate three people.

10. I AM COMING WITH A GROUP? HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN YOU ACCOMMODATE AT ANY ONE TIME?

Depending on the day, we can start up to 4 couples in the mud baths every half-hour.
