The Route
Start at Joseph Phelps Vineyard on Taplin Road off the Silverado Trail. Proceed north on the Trail to Conn Valley Road and Meadowood Lane. Go west on Pope Street to north Highway 29 through St. Helena to Beringer Winery and the Culinary Institute.
A look at a map shows how nearly the entire Napa Valley,
between Highway 29 and the Silverado Trail, is criss-crossed by short roads,
each of which rambles between endless vineyards, past glorious old mansions
and wineries. Along the east side of the Silverado Trail in the rugged foothills
of the Vaca Range, wineries, a few inns, and lovely, lonely country roads
are discoveries to be made. Our tour begins at Joseph Phelps Vineyards.
