RUN WITH THE GIRAFFES BUT AWAY FROM THE CHEETAHS: Mid-October
don’t miss this event at Safari West just
north of Calistoga. This is the annual 5k Run/Walk, which features
up close and personal views of exotic animals in their natural
setting. The proceeds go to the Safari West Wildlife Foundation
and will be used specifically to help underprivileged schools
enjoys field trips so children can see these beautiful animals
and develop an awareness for conservation and beauty. For more

- HALLOWEEN FESTIVITIES: October would not
be complete without the annual Halloween Parade down Calistoga's
Lincoln Avenue and a visit to Calistoga's own Haunted House.
There is a horse drawn ghost tour, face painting, palm reading
and much more. Bring the whole family and enjoy all the spooky
fun. The parade is on Halloween evening at 6PM and the Haunted

- CHOCOLATE AND WINE OF NAPA VALLEY: On
Sunday, October 25, 2009, enjoy one of the best chocolate and
wines of Napa Valley at the 22nd annual Chocolate and Wine of
Napa Valley event held in Napa. Tickets are $45, and all
proceeds benefit the Napa County Foster Kinds and the Child Abuse
