Calistoga’s Annual Christmas Bazaar: This
is the crème de la crème of holiday craft fairs
in the Napa Valley. This classic hometown event is free to all
so bring the whole family and enjoy a true community affair while
supporting local non-profit organizations, schools and Wine Country
artists. Sample everything from homemade tamales to kumquat jam.
Santa is also scheduled to appear for photographic opportunities.
This event takes place at the Napa County Fairgrounds in Calistoga
on the first Saturday in December from 9 to 4PM.
- Calistoga’s Napa Valley Lighted Tractor Parade
and Open House: Also on the first Saturday of December,
don’t miss this yearly event. The main street of Calistoga,
Lincoln Avenue, is magically aglow with dozens of tractors,
floats and vehicles of all shapes sizes. Everything from Dad’s
riding lawn mower to an earth mover that reaches a hundred
feet in the air will be lit up with Christmas lights and decorated
for this annual competition. The fun gets underway just after
dark but come early and visit Calistoga’s unique shops
and share a cup of hot cider and a Christmas cookie with the
local merchants on Lincoln Avenue during Calistoga’s
own Open House.
- Carols In The Caves: David Auerbach originally
gave birth to this unique Napa Valley Tradition in 1986. The
Improvisator, as he prefers to be known is skilled on more than
fifty different types of exotic instruments. The settings and
locations as well as the concert themes are always evolving.
If you have never experienced music inside a cave, be it winery
or otherwise, you are in for an unbelievable experience. The
eclectic nature and the ambiance of the location combined with
these artists talents can create a mood that changes from a quiet
and meditative chant to a wild and hearty jig in moments. There
are various venues and dates to choose from during the holiday
season so make this a Wine Country tradition of your own. Visit http://www.carolsinthecaves.com/ for
more information.
- Santa Claus Express: Enjoy a train
ride from Napa to Yountville with Santa Claus and his Elves. This
is a great way to enjoy Napa Valleys famous wine train with your
children. These train rides are on several days in December. Click
here for additional information.
