OPENING NIGHT GALA AT GREYSTONE-“MUSTARD MAGIC”: A highlight of the Mustard Festival is the gala opening night at Greystone’s Culinary Institute of America in St Helena. It is entitled ‘Mustard Magic’ . This event includes a live and silent auction, gourmet food, wine and dancing. NAPA VALLEY PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST: Known as the ‘Mumm Photo Finish’, thiswonderful event that draws photographers from all over the country and has become quite competitive. The criteria is simple - photographs must be taken within the Napa Valley and must have the common theme of the vibrant yellow mustard flower so prevalent to this valley in spring and summer. There are several different categories from amateur to professional, innovative to theme pieces. From personal experience the competition is fierce. You will be able to enjoy phenomenal images of the Napa Valley at the beautiful Mumm Cellars as well as hors d’oeuvres and wine tasting. This is the festivals’ Grande Finale event and routinely sells out so book in advance. Saturday, March 29, 2008 at 7PM, Mumm Napa Valley, Rutherford CA.
THE MARKETPLACE: Down valley in the town of Napa ‘The Marketplace’ event takes place in the plush Copia center for the arts. One can savor mustard tastings from around the world, wines, handcrafted beers, and many other gastronomical delights. Crafts, local art and other wares are tucked into festive white tents allowing this event to take place come rain or shine! Saturday and Sunday March 15 and 16, 2008, 11AM-5PM at Copia, The American Center for Wine Food and the Arts in downtown Napa, CA.
