A
charming, interesting place for a bite, Checkers is a great stop
between shopping on Lincoln Avenue. You’ll notice the unusual
curvy bar and interesting art nouveau prints on the walls. The
service here is exquisite; the wait staff seems as if they can
practically read your mind. And before any ordered food is served,
you are treated to delicious bread and olive oil for dipping – a
delicious and hard-to-resist combination.
If you like pizza, Checkers is the place to come. You can get a large variety of pizzas here, from pesto to Thai. There are also a variety of calzones available.
The sandwiches here are very interesting, ranging from turkey, avocado and cheese to roasted leg of lamb. As for entrees, there are a variety of pasta dishes, including linguini Carbonara and butternut squash ravioli. The Firecracker chicken with spicy Asian sauce is delicious. Or, you can opt for one of several salads. Checkers’ version of the Cobb salad is quite tasty, as is the Blackened chicken Caesar salad. Checkers also has a wine and beer selection.
